Corrie Ten Boom once said,
“you never touch the ocean of God’s love when you forgive and love your enemies”
In Acts 7:60, Jesus fell to his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.”
Jesus showed forgiveness to us, and gives us the command to do the same.
Luke 6:27-29 says, “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them.”
How do you respond when the world turns viciously? Do you get bitter, angry, or do you love, and pray? God calls us to do the latter. Next time someone makes you mad, hurts you, think of the pain Jesus went through to forgive you. Then, forgive that person. Forgiveness heals broken relationships.
